About the Exhibition
A Stone In my Shoe is a collection of multimedia fibre installations, which will be on view from March 7 to June 1, with a public opening reception on March 7, at 5 pm, in conjunction with SoWa’s monthly First Fridays.
With a title evoking the sensation of a persistent yet often unnoticed discomfort, this show acts as a meditation on grief, memory, compassion, and resilience. Emphasising texture, layers, and intricate stitching, which convey themes of grief and spirituality, responding to the passing of Tabb's mother and the current rise of antisemitism. Reflecting tension between old and new, the visible and invisible, A Stone in my Shoe visualizes internal struggles to encourage dialogue and empathy.
